Other Suggestions on how to bond brackets to hull

In areas of the hull where it's not possible to drill thru, nut and bolt, what kind of bonding agent can I find that will hold brackets and can be purchased locally?

Needing to bond a few small brackets (non weight baring) on the vertical section of the hull and also a battery box, obviously flush down in the hull.

I've used 5200 in the squeeze size tube before, for bilge pump bases, but I was unsure if it would be strong enough to hold a battery box (with standard weight battery), without shearing off.

I would not trust it for holding a battery. Use epox & cloth.

5200 is completely over rated. It is ok in some applications but there are plenty of better/stronger products out there.

You don't want to just glue a battery box down. It's not going to last.
I went through this a few months ago myself. Go to a hardware store and buy yourself four stainless tee-nuts of whatever size you think is right.
Cut strips of glass or carbon and make holes in them big enough for the tee-nut shank. Cut a set of bigger strips and repeat. Do it again. Maybe finish off with one big piece that will cover all four tee-nuts.
Now use epoxy resin and glass down those tee-nuts, starting with the smallest strips and work your way up.

Once it's done, you can bolt the battery box down. Mine has held up for six months now and countless failed backflips. The battery box is actually busted now.

Roo nailed it mixing and resin with the filler beats any adhesive price wise also. Even using material from us composites milled 1/32" fibers with med. 3:1 epoxy resin. I use this all the time never had an issue

I used west systems epoxy in the tube and also mixed epoxy resin with filler and drill some holes
In my carbon battery box and glued that down. ain't going nowhere

But for hooks . Kinda like Matt said . I made stainless hooks and glued those down and also put 2 layers of carbon overtop. I could prob hang the hull from the 3

West Marine now sells West Systems epoxy thickened in a caulk tube form. I would go with that. Plexus is much better and the same price by volume but hard to get locally and the sights on the web that sell by the tube rip you off seveirly.
