Summer + Wet Suit

Man look's like we going to have to quit ride or use wetsuit ...
foking jelly fish came to stay on our area. and i mean 25465411743254325246.54424104102542102 of them .

is like impossible to ride .

just want to share my frustration

few years ago we were heading out threw the pass (Perdido) and I jumped a boat wake (40' boat), came down from vertical, when I hit it felt like my arm and leg slapped the water, stung like crap, well, it kept stinging.... I looked down and I had all this goey mess hanging from my arms and wrapped around my legs. Little did I know that I had landed on a huge jelly fish.
stung like hell.

well i saw it...

did a BR and then land on one but i felt in the back of the ski when i started the ski all got inside my vest ... my chest and belly looked like this...


all those red dots were one jelly fish after pump

we rode in the bay today and no jellies but the gulf is different i'm sure

they alot the large number of jellies to the decreasing number of turtles on the coast here.

jellies = dersert for turtles

Gump,
This happened to you last year too. If I recall you got a little sick from being stung so much. Sorry I know that hurts. Nothing as discouraging as plunging into a bunch stinging tentacles. Have you tried Dive Skin or a 1mm Wet Suit they are a little thinner than the standard wetsuit and might not be as uncomfortable in the summer heat.
Try not to intentional suck up the jellyfish in your pump. What that does is make 100 of stinging tentacles and makes them into a 1000 stinging particles too.

we see them every year here as well, but these are the cannonballs...you can pick them right up and they dont hurt you..

but come august there will be THOUSANDS of them everywhere you look
