Sunk the ski…all okay? Maybe?

Story..
1. Ski sunk, friend tried to start it 4-5 times
2. I Pulled spark plugs, got all water out
3. I fired her up and ran it for 30-45 min

…she runs good so far, worried about a bent rod or crank from trying to start it with water in it. How would I tell if a rod or the crank is bent?? Or would that be obvious?

If your ski runs well, your crank/rods are fine. Not uncommon to break a reed on sunken ski but again if you run OK I am sure you are fine there as well.

Open your e-box, and remove flywheel cover, and make certain all is dry, and clean.
Haha I've broken a Reed and bent a butterfly on one of the carbs at the same time. Tried to put a plug loosely threaded halfway in too early and the water pressure broke the Reed and bent the butterfly on the front cylinder. One of those mistakes that only happens once haha.

Thanks for the help guys, will do…

I am now down the rabbit hole, after fogging the engine for “just in case” purposes I noticed my carbs were looking a little gunky, so I decided it’s time to rebuild them. Now that I have the carbs off and hearing about broken reeds, I’m thinking it may be time to replace/upgrade my reeds while the carbs are off. 3 questions..

1. Carbon reed replacements or VForce reeds?

2. Is there a noticeable performance difference when upgrading the whole reed package to VForce?

2. If I upgrade to VForce reeds, will I have to retune the carbs?

Stock 2014 Superjet.

X2 on the Carbon Tech reeds. The “performance gain” is gone after the first 30 seconds, but if one breaks off its like cotton candy when it gets sucked into your cylinder. The stainless oem, they tend to do a little more damage.

If you do go with a/m reeds, get the VF2, the last time I used VF3 reeds I couldn’t get them to seal. Operator error probably, but something to keep in mind.
