Some of you may have heard the term Super Chicken. If you haven't, it is a nickname for Kawasaki's Sport Cruiser. Does anybody know how the term "Super Chicken" came to be? Here is the story I heard... One of the local race sanctions in New England held a class for the Sport Cruiser, which was pretty much just a gag. Then the class actually picked up popularity pretty quick, and suddenly there was a market for Sport Cruisers in New England! I guess someone in the community started calling it a Super Chicken, and the name just stuck.
Is this a tall tail? Who knows more about this? If it DID start in New England, it's pretty cool to see the term reach across the country!
