Super Jet Project, Re-Paint-Update

Well, the bottom is just about done, and man does this thing look hot in person. The pics dont do it justice, its orion silver fading out to a dark blue,to black at the back of the ski, the graphics were all painted not pinstriped, and the silver in the front is over the orange,,,so in the sunlight you can see the orange hue bleeding through the silver. He is getting the top deck preped and getting it ready to be painted. Hoping to have it all done by the weekend....
I'll update with more pics when its completed. (this is actually Pat's old ski, that was yellow and blue, there is a surprise going into the paint just for Pat,soo everyone shhhhhhhsh!!)

You know I dont have a clue about how to do that, I have actually lost friggin sleep wonder that same thing.... According to Mitch he layed like 5 coats of a some type of marine clear, and its supposed to be hard as a rock when it cures, but I just dont buy it. I've heard about the thing you are talking about that would protect it on the trailer, i think I need to seriously look into that.

With all the work that was put into the bottom of the hull you're gonna have to get that thing inverted so you can show off the paint job.

Nice work. Keep us updated on the top deck.

i'll call wammer in the morning, he should be able to hook me up, it is his hull afterall. As far taking it to daytona, inverting it, or even taking it to the lake. Right now i'm still afraid to slide that thing onto a trailer. If I could get it past the wife the ski would be out of the garage and be focal point of the living room or something!

If you have an old hull, you can make one. Just put mold release on bottom and lay up some cheap glass w/ cheap polyester resin, pop it off then put some felt or something on it and trim it out. Of course if Wammer has one cheap enough go that route.

Looks great so far Stevie, can't wait to see it in person. I guess giving him artistic freedom is paying off.

it looks nice but I don't understand why you would put all that work into the bottom. it's going to get trashed eventually. I actually take pride in all the marks I put into the nicely painted ski I have.

paint the bottom... trash it over the season... paint it again... trash it again:biggthumpup: It's a vicious cycle.

Here;s some more pics of the work in progress. This thing is coming out sweeeet! It should be ready by Fri afternoon. I will post pics of the finished product over the weekend. Shanie I'll call after I pick it up, I gonna need a hand putting that bad boy back together if you dont mind helping out.
