Super Jet Super Jet wont go full speed

Hey

i just had to take off my exhaust system to swap out the starter on my 91' SuperJet.. it road fine for a few times out, but now when i pin the throttle its going about 50%.

i don't know if its related to the repair or if it just started happening. want to get it back to 100%, any advise??

Did you use new gaskets and clamp all the hoses tight? Sounds like an exhaust leak.

no i didnt.. that was a concern when i was putting it back together but i was un able to get any new gaskets so i risked it. when it first started happening i noticed smoke coming off the block..

i think you are correct, any suggestions as to a good place to get new gaskets? I'm a bit of a newb so i dont know all the ins and out YET..

motors work on oxygen and fuel. when you put an exhaust leak in the equation, you just make it run like . TDH sells gaskets dirt cheap

I'd either send a PM to Steve-uk (he's in Ontario) or Superjet-113 on here. One of them will set you up with the proper gasket.

thanks again. i took another look at it and it is not obviously leaking out of the gasket. is it something you can see clearly? i am worried it could be something worse like a blown piston cylander, does that make any sense?

and i have delt with steve-uk in the past, he is very helpfull!!
