My old dirtbike racing buddy came down for the Daytona Supercross and I asked about his DRZ. He has 56k miles on it and did his first rebuild at like 36k miles. He recently rebuilt it again as maintenance and preparation for a 1400 mile business trip from NH to WI using a map from Walmart. He just drove down as many dirt roads as he could find and did some highway. I need a Motard!!

Thats cool. I just hope to save some fuel money. I will probably just ride it back and forth to my storage trailers and for errands.

Now my wife wants a scooter so we can ride around town together.

Scott you'll love it I had some of the best super Moto bikes out there they're good they're fast fun but their work and maintenance, Went back to the drz With bigger cams full exhaust for my putter and love it, No maintenance gas and go

When I saw yours, I was like man I have to get one.
The yellow was the hardest to find. Mose were black. I want something that will stand out and be seen.

Did a a few laps around the hood. First turn and curve was the hardest.Then it started coming back to me.
Few more rides and I will be fine. Makes me feel like a kid again.

Nice drz! I kinda wish I held off for a cleaner bike, but atleast I wont feel so bad beating mine up. I need to find some locals to meet up with and do some sumo rides and try out some different brands. I took my 450exc for it's first spin yesterday, and holy ch!t is it fun. I can definately see myself getting into trouble with it.

I kmow what you mean about beating it up. But I felt that way about my Vision and it is scratched up from beaching.

And yes, I see tickets in my future. And with my luck,it will be alot of them. I want to find a supermoto jacket now. I have read good things about the Joe Rocket and some are priced reasonable. The mixed fiber ones are more what I would like to pay but I want to make sure it will hold up if I take a spill.

Time for an update! Finally got the ktm inspected today after reworking the electrics, new(er) tires, and some cosmetic work. Still a lot to do, but now it's street worthy.

Getting there!

I so far have added the drc edge tail light, ufo supermoto front fender,roller skate wheel axle sliders and the best mod a new rear ohlins spring.
Took it to a shop by road atlanta and had them set it up for my weight and what a difference. They noticed it was a little rich so I need to replace the pilot jet next. Now its all about riding.
I have been riding all of the closed/blocked off subdivision and one awesome closed golf course. Its has been a blast!

Sweet progress! I just installed a new Shorai battery on sunday crazy its so freaking light weight.
I picked up a kick start kit last week too, hopefully I can install this weekend if I have time.

I got a 05 drz400sm. I never liked that it doesnt come with a kick start and plus kick starting is way cool
After reading a bunch of forums and internet crap, I decided to grab the OEM kick start kit for the drz400E model.
It should bolt right up with parts left over from what I read everywhere.

NO! Dont get a DRZ, heavy! and if your kinda wanting to stunt it a little I'm my opinion it will be like a circus elephant i hated my old one.

Finally got around to putting my kick start kit on the DRZ.
I replaced the clutch while I was in there, had a couple burnt plates and springs were going bad.

-smog removed
-leo vince slip on
-39mm keihin fcr
-3x3 mod
-Contiforce sm tires

This drz rips. You guys are all hating on stock drzs

Drz's are just toned WAY down. Do a head job on it clean up the ports and a big bore. Then jet accordingly. It feels like double the power over stock.
