nah sold it as well as the pv engine. The lamey by itself was pretty tough not going through the greif of sorting a supercharger on it

If you can make it work with instant throttle response and acceleration, do it but good luck.

snow mobiles do it a lot and it works amazingly well. but reed valve setup and pressure values along with what expansion chamber to run is what we are working on right now with our drag sled. as far as on a stand up... idk how much faster id feel safe with my 750sx going lol

So you guys are thinking a supercharger isnt worth it? What about a turbo with a small intercooler inside the ski?
for the time and money why not just build a 1000cc+ huge bore motor? will be lighter, run better, be easier to tune, be more reliable, and be just as powerful.
what are you going to be doing with the motor anyways? its not a common mod for a reason.

see i love the turbo idea as opposed to a big bore 12000$ engine but fitting it under a stand up hood is a little rediculous. we are doing it on a 1992 sea doo with a 717 swapped in it just to be stupid and have the sound lol

717 is timebomb with only a factory pipe....

I wouldn't even consider adding forced induction to it...

I was going to start a overhaul club at college and I have a 650 haul and 650 motor and was like hey, lets try to turbo it or super charge it. But if it, seems near impossible or way to expensive, then I might just do a 1100 swap into the 650 haul that we are gonna overhaul as well.

Sounds like fun, DO IT!!!!!

*and to help you out and avoid confusion the word for the body of a boat/ski is hull.

Yeah my bad I meant hull, and still looking for a motor to turbo, may be going towards a different approach and try to get a motorcycle or dirt bike motor in one. Just trying a bunch of crazy ideas while I have the chance and money!

Can someone simply explain how exactly a supercharger/turbo 2 stroke works??

Someone I know argues passionately (he's a dip:):):):)) that 2 stroke blown engines do not exist. Apparently all the high horsepower 2 stroke turbo'd snowmachines in the northern united States either do no exist or are actually weaker than before 2 stroke and all the jet skis people talk about turbo'ing in this thread are also weaker non-existent jet skis. I read a 13 page thread on pwctoday and no one ha a good explanation of why it worked.

So I just want an explanation because he keeps on talking about

Here's a simple explanation from him about why 2 strokes cannot be blown..

how are you going to create pressure inside the cylinder
if it can escape out of the exhaust
you cant
whatever pressure you make will come out of the exhaust
a 4 stroke has valves
and when the intake valves are open the exhaust is closed
and thats how its able to create pressure

He is confused. His "explanation" also explains why 2 strokes can't run...ever. According to him, all the intake air would just blow out the exhaust. He forgets that the piston moves up and down in the bore and actually closes off the exhaust port, once the exhaust port is closed the turbo can build pressure in the cylinder.
