Superfreak length?

@jeastes1 Had a carbon -4.3 and he cut it down and built a full width rideplate on his I think he can go as short as -10 now. Maybe he will chime in, I know he was throwing big flips and rolls @ 4.3 with just a 701 in it before he upgraded to a tpe. photo proof vvvvv

So I've pulled the trigger on a carbon superfreak badass. I've had a lot of time on waveblaster785 and buckwilds -2 freaks. I want to go shorter, I was thinking -4.3 but I have a few people suggesting I go shorter. I primarily chase boats and can get a bit choppy at times so I don't want to be limited there. Anyone with a shorter freak have any input?

I think for your usage the -4.3 is about right. Shorter hull will make some tricks even easier but at some loss of high speed stability.

any freak other than the circus and forget flat water tricks

I am sorry but that is nonsense! Long before the circus even existed, the badass was the flatwater ski to have. Lucas and other flatwater guys were killing it on -4.3 badass, doing all the flatwater tricks including multiple flips, underflip, etc. Josh was new rider to flatwater and flipping his -4.3 on flat without any problem.

Here is Lucas on my -1.5 badass with only JM/Blue BB, bpipe, and stock electrics.
This was his first short ride on it.

I think everybody keeps forgetting that this guy is going to be riding in rough water and chasing boats at 3/4 throttle. a -10 hull is not going to do this well. Can you run it 3/4 throttle. sure, but it is going to wear you out doing so. The -4.3 would be about as short as I would go.

Kahuna nailed it. We are never concerned if you can fw flip it. It's not our thing. But hard choice I think I'd go 4;3 with short plate Dave.

this guy being able to perform like lucas is also nonsense............ and lets compare apples to apples. your personal boat ported and tuned to perfection and whats going to be thrown in his boat. can you ride your freak like lucas can?

My vote is for -4.3, expecially since you already flip and roll a sn. Definitely easier to maintain speed, less tiring, less porpousing than a shorter hull. It's surprising there isn't more of a noticeable difference on mine at -8.5 to -4.3 !

This guy meaning me?
nothing personal but i dont see you performing like lucas with the powerplant you are putting in there. if to buy anything around -5, WHEN you attempt to sell it, its going to be less desirable for buyer and thats just the way the market is going these days. you will like a -5 but later down the road, you'll probably wish you got a shorter hull. listen to what ever you want, but remember what i said, later. if you plan on chasing boats for the rest of your days, -5 will be enough.

I dont want to derail this thread, superunatural isnt a flatwater guy and what his setup and skills are have nothing to do with your previous comment.

TheBuzzard said: "any freak other than the circus and forget flat water tricks"

You said that the badass isnt any good for flatwater, I just disagreed. I posted that vid to show lucas flipping an almost stock length ski with 760/bpipe for reference. A shorter badass with a decent flatwater setup is easily flippable by an average guy. And no I can't ride flatwater like lucas at all on any ski or setup!

Buckwild12

I'm moved by DASA power!
when it comes to tuning a boat to perfection, Dave is pretty damn good at that sort of thing. What he has absolutely rips for what it is. But yes and no disrespect Dave, Lucas has some skills that neither of us possess............. yet.

Before it goes too far I want to thank the people that took the time to read my post and give input related to it.

It's kinda funny actually before I hit send to post my thread I asked some people in a group text "how many posts before I regret posting this". Everyone said 1 and they were correct.

Well except all the flatwater talk...we are graced by the largest boats with most traffic ever. Why would you ever choose to hit your own 4 inch wake when home boy in his 7 million dollar Viking is dragging you a big hit till your out of gas lol.

I don't think its gone too far. Don't regret posting. I've read all the input people have given and I appreciate hearing peoples opinions on the different lengths.

I said before it goes to far. I'm on here literally everyday and see how things can end up, just wanted to take the time to thank the people that took the time to reply.
