Superfreak length?

No one has really spoke about rocker on a SF. After reading Jamie's post,l think it important in deciding what you want out of your badass. And how changing the rocker on one will affect the flipability,no matter what length it is

Since we are on the subject of rear rocker. Waveblaster785 actually suggested to me a while ago instead of going -6 or -7, go with -4.3 with rocker. I know rocker promotes porpoising but so does a short hull. So how would a -6 or -7 compare to a -4.3 with rocker?

Also kicking around the idea that if I do go -6 or 7 instead of running a long ride plate in the event it's too short I could build one with some hook in it to keep the nose down at speed. A shorter plate with a hook in it I think would give you stability at higher speed but be less effective at lower speed allowing the back to drop more for flips. Thoughts?

Keeping the nose down at speed isn't a problem. It's just a matter of how quick you can get the nose down after a deep water start or if you get off plane with a slow speed.

So this is a subject i have never really though about. I am also in the market for a superfreak. You can get them with a different rear rocker? How would that change the ride characteristic.

I thought the only things you could change was the length and the hood?

The rear rocker isn't accross the whole hull, it's only outside of the outer chines. I'll try and dig up a picture. A hooked rideplate is masking an issue IMO and isn't a good idea. Depending how agressive of a hook you're thinking of It'll push the nose down hard which may be what you're after on a shorter hull but it'll also not allow the tail to release on turns while you're on rail which would make the nose push.

It's actually very hard finding a picture that shows the rocker very well. If you compare the orange to the black you can see that the chine which is black maintains normal rocker but the outside edge is where the rocker is added which essentially just loosens up the back of the ski.

^ To elaborate on this, all recent Bad-Ass's have the rear rocker on the outside of the outer chine, they are just more apparent on the longer hulls as the rocker always starts in the same position.

Here is the rocker on the outside of my -7 hull.

I believe this is incorrect - that is a line that every badass has, and like you said its more visible on longer hulls

However, the rocker is on the chine below it. If you look closely at @KTM434 pics you can see this. Perhaps @Berky can confirm?

@BrightE's you're looking at the wrong lines. Look at the side profile of my hull. You can clearly see the outer chine (black) continues the normal lines to the back of the hull but from that outer chine to the outer edge of the hull there is rocker and the body lines lift

At a closer look, yeah, the line looks like the back of the hull does angle up. Jamie had a pretty unique freak then.

@Berky - Rear rocker option still available?

That ski was a one of a kind that had extra rocker added from the strake to the chine and 10" forward , it turned great but could porpoise going fast in certain choppy conditions . I really liked that ski in the surf !
