Freestyle Superfreak Pole length

I just realized My RRP pole really won't work that well with the new Freak . You can't run a pole spring = RRP out period . I like the x metal adjustable , but think I would prefer a Tem carbon pole . What length are you all running ? I know there are a lot of variables just want a rough Idea . How does the x adjustable work ? long enough , to short , have an x metal custom cut ?

Thanks freakers

I installed an adjustable XMetal on Wastelands SJ back in the early fall, Really liked it. Considered selling my -2 XMetal and swapping but no real need.

Go with the XMetal.

I havent gotten my freak yet, but I have the adjustable pole Its awesome, just 3 bolts and make it longer or shorter. great design, I did see one break after 40 minutes of ride time at wavedaze though.

I'm running a XM adjustable pole, works great on my flatwater ski. I have it at -5 with a short steering. Really need another - 1 maybe -2 for a pure flatwater ski.

Surf I think you would need a custom XM adjustable, another Badass buyer had XM make a custom pole that has +1 but will go to -2.

I just got my carbon pole from Tem on Friday. It's 40 inches.
I posted pics in my build thread.

l'm running a pole spring with my rrp set up.And using a xm pole bracket.

yeah, but the badass doesn't use a simple pole bracket. i'd like to see if you guys can get a spring setup to work. i had an xmetal adjustable on mine. at -2 it was to long for flat and to short for riding surf stance. i think a stock length pole for surf guys and flat water needs atleast -5

So start with a minus 2 costom pole and the audjustment in the pole will give you another 3 or so inches. Is that right? Gets confusing with all the different turnplates etc.

Blake is right on , stockish length pole for surf 38" to 40" and -6" to -3" for FW freestyle. Yes Kevin, Turnplates can vary up to 4" so that plays a big part.

I am tall and have a bad back. I run a -4 pole on my superjet. When I rode Tem's ski with a -2 on flat water it was pretty good for me. I could see myself wanting a touch more length in the surf though so I custom ordered a +1 to -2. Just got it about a week ago. Takes a while longer to get the custom length so order it early. If I had a better back I might have gone a little shorter..... maybe just 0 to -3.

It's really all guessing until I get some ride time on it. Pole length is definitely a personal preference thing.

OK

1. This build will be a flat water / boat chaser

2. I have an adjustable x pole and their adjustable turn plate on my second ski that I can swap . The length adjusted to it's shortest position is 38 " measured from the pole bolt to the center point of the bars.

3. Does the Freak bracket place the pole further forward netting a shorter pole if so how much ?

4 . If the answer to question 3 is NO , then I should order a custom MINUS 5 /6 ? pole . That would be a full flat water set up . I would then be able to let it out 5 inches or so at the plate /pole if I changed my mind .

5. I know I'm making this hard

I think the mounting location is 5" forward from a Superjet. However, it doesn't feel like it's that far forward because the tray is also forward. For flat water a std. X metal adjustable -2 to -5 would probably be about perfect. Just use the one off your second ski.

I'm really really hoping the length of my carbon pole is right.
If not, it'll be for sale. :(
