California is ridiculously dry this year. I figured that my local river isn't likely to make it until after June this year. So I bought this ski from @RMBC Freeride to ride surf. I chose this hull because of the versatility- Surf, flat, cruising, etc. The hull came with midshaft, motor mounts, pole brackets, and pump shoe/wear ring in place. I have worked on it for about 6 days thus far. @JetManiac gave me a great deal on a oem steering cable. I was trying to route my initial brand new cable through the handle pole and it slipped out of the strap holding it up and bent the cable beyond repair. Ouch $$$... He pretty much supplied all of the build components. I harvested most of the other parts from my recent square nose build. I had to modify the steering nozzle. The first one I did was a total failure... I took off too much material and with the bars cranked one way there was a major gap between the steering and reduction nozzle. Second try was much better.

A couple comparison points on building Aftermarket vs OEM hulls
Pros:
B-Pipe with limited chamber is a breeze to install
Gas tank is easier to get in/out
Cons:
With a front foothold alignment of couplers is difficult.
Battery in the back of ski under the exhaust pipe is a bit of a PITA, especially if it dies.
Lack of room in the back of the ski. I have large hands and forearms. I had to requisition my girlfriend's help every time I dropped a nut, screwdriver...etc. By the end of the build, my forearms and hands were very cut/bruised.

Driveline:
New JetManiac Built/ @Blue Ported 718 61x/62t with ADA head
Zero Lightened Flywheel
New Oem Kawi Starter with yami rear plate
New Oem Bendix
New Vforce 2 reeds/cages
Completely rebuilt oem 38s
New Limited B-Pipe
Rebuilt OEM pump with brand new 10/16 hooker, Pro-Tec reduction nozzle
Hull:
-4.3 full carbon super freak badass- hull ~ 60 lbs. hood ~8 lbs.
RTR weight- yet to be determined. I haven't fueled it up.
New X-Metal Handle Pole (standard length)
X-Metal Steering (extended bolt with nylock nut to avoid loosening)
Shaped a Squarenose foam block to stuff in the front of the ski.
X-metal scupper
X-metal throttle
BigBore Throttle cable
Elecs:
MSD Enhancer
New Start Stop Switch/OEM Lanyard
@OCD Solutions tidy bilge set up (super clean thank you)

Looks Great! i really dig the smooth turf on the rails. RMBC always has had some really nice stuff, Wasn't this one of the first badass hulls tem made?

It wasn't the very first, but probably in the first 5 or so (I think) ?

Kohl did a great job getting it back together. I look forward to hearing the ride report - I know it will be good...
I'm definitely missing this hull already :(

I took the ski out today. I have to break in the motor so the first tank I didn't take it much over 1/2 throttle per JM instructions. Full ride report will come once I'm able to ride full throttle. The ski is awesome though.

One issue I need some help with- Ski turns extremely well to the right but the left...not so much. The cable is centered. The nozzle has equal amount of throw each way...Any ideas?

Any input? Does that siphon line I'm not using possibly interfere when the nozzle is to the left (turning right)? Too much throw to the left?

If your steering nozzle isn't clearanced for the protec nozzle than that's your problem...it's thicker where the siphon part is vs stock. Your probably hitting the siphon boss and not getting full throw. That's how my protec nozzle with stock turn nozzle needs to be anyway.

It gave it clearance by removing some material. It appears to have adequate throw, No?

The cable doesn't have really any more throw left and the turn plate is hitting the turn stops.

I will consider that an option, however, I do not believe the cable has additional throw/length. Also, it appears to have more throw to the left ( with poor right turning) than to the right ( excellent left turning).

Ok, your previous post said the opposite...the right side of my stocker is ground down to, again cause the protec nozzle is thicker and designed to use with the protec steering nozzle. In your fourth pic down the cable looks like it can go in more. If it's not ground down on that side than it needs to be, to get full throw both ways.
