SuperJet Factory?

I am trying to fill out the paper work so that i can get an 08 SuperJet into Canada, but it requires that I fill in where it was build. Is it Japan? I hope not because that means i get to pay some duty:woot:. I'm pretty sure it's made in Japan but I wanted to make sure.

nice!! i have done some work for that factory in GA, but it was for the rhino ;(
i have been wondering if they made the SJ there. thanks yamacat

Well I'm not sure that plant makes the Superjet but I do know some of the waverunners come out of that plant.

Peel the "Made In Japan" stickers of the inside of the engine compartment. I brought a few in to Canada but was only charged duty once. Are you importing it yourself?

I didn't think there was much to figure out? You don't need a title and you don't have to go through the RIV. Just take it across the border and pay your taxes.

I just got off the phone with border services and since it's coming accross in the back of my truck all I need to do is show my bill of sale and have the title, pay taxes and duty then I am good to go. If it was on a trailer then it would be much more difficult becuase different laws apply since it is on the road via the trailer.
So after taxed of $327 and duty of $620, my total in CDN to get it home is $7478. I can't wait to get it back here I was out at my cabin and it looks like it will only be another 2 weeks or so then the ice will be gone!!! Then I'm getting in the water to freeze my a$$ off!!

Thats not entirely true. If you bring your own trailer its considered as the back of you pickup hence taxes on purchase price.
