Wondering what to torque my flywheel to when I put on my new Zero fw and what color of locktite. Ive heard not to use Red locktite. I'm not doing the rope trick lol I bought a cold fusion flywheel holder. Also do I have to pull my gas tank or can I getaway without removing I'm also going to advance my timing 3 degrees

Thanks for the info

Yamaha spec for flywheel is 47 ft lbs. Dry is fine for a stock steel hubbed flywheel or a little loctite if you will feel better. A little oil under the bolt flange is good practice but do not oil the threads as this only messes with the torque reading.

I chopped the black center threaded piece on one of these

so it fits easily between the flywheel and tank. I added a few washers to each of the three bolts that go into the flywheel.

Remember to not got too deep with those 3 bolts so you don't damage the stator. I was able to thread those 3 in by hand.

I threaded the black center piece through the silver triangle piece then chopped it so I wouldn't have to worry about getting the damaged threads through after the cut.

All back together but removed tank instead of trying to work in a confined space. Advanced my timing 3mm. 1st hit of the start switch and the bendex didn't catch but after that it did for 6 start ups then didn't catch. Should I be concerned? The Zero fw had mint clean teeth

Where my bendex fits in the cover I found a washer that was loose on top of spring so I greased it in while putting back together. I read that there's washers sooo does that mean one washer at each side of bendex spring or 2 on top?

One washer on each side of the bendix spring.

Do you guys loctite the flywheel key? I read that somewhere...

Have seen some do it to lock key in place during assembly but not necessary at all.

Neck snapping good time adding that fly wheel!!! I can't imagine how a jetnetics or a TBM would do as far as performance
