Another 80 miles on this 5lbs of sh*tt on Sunday when I bought a 2nd ski
Look man this is my last reply to this thread I just think it's irresponsible to use something that the manufacture itself says is rated way below what you are carrying on it. I just don't want to see some of our younger members that are impressionable and maybe looking for a cheap way to carry their ski to think that this is the correct way to do it this is no different then putting tires on your boat trailer that are not rated to carry the weight of your boat eventually there will be an issue maybe not with yours but maybe it's the next guy that decided to follow your advice and skimp out on a half ass carrier. Even the ski that you just picked up is worth 4 times what a decent carrier would cost. If that ski were to fall off on the freeway Not only would it destroy the ski but it could hurt and or damage somebody else's vehicle or persons. Again I build a basic economy carrier for as little as $185 that I guarantee for life and will hold up to 650 pounds that is engineered and tested over and over. I'm not putting you down for being ingenuitive I'm just saying the part you're using States right on the information that it's not made to carry the weight of your ski much less the dynamic weight that is caused when you're in motion. No hard feelings no ill-will have a blast skiing after all that's what we're all on this form for.
