Superjet hood problems / pole bracket?

Well here it goes, everytime I put my hood on my superjet and put the hood latch on. It appears like the hood is on correctly, but it seems like the hooks to keep the hood down on the front on the pole bracket are either bent or something? Because everytime I put the pole up in the air (to put the pole up to take off the hood) the spring seems to be screwy and comes back and pushes my hood up about 1\2 inch and serious water can get it if I was riding. I tried to explain it to a buddy over the phone, but obviously I am not explaining it right. What I am wondering is if I buy a new sping and a lowered pole bracket will I be ready to roll again?

I can't visualize what your saying. Can you post some before/after pics?

check out the link in my sig. Few posts down I have a pic of my "Brap strap". basically a ratchet bolted to the dash in place of the hood latch with straps mounted to the bracket. I don't even run hood hooks. If you do a search on brap strap you'll find all sorts of other pics.

sounds like your spring is messed up.
