But wouldn't stripped splins allow it to rev easier in the water? It does not sound like it is getting half the rpms it should

I found broken reeds in my buddies ski. The rubber coating was coming off of the cage and one of the petals was missing and others a little chewed up.

exhaust hose from waterbox to bulkhead delaminated? I fought with that one for a week or two.

I'm fighting with it right now.

I had a cheater pipe laying around so I decided to put it on.

I took the ski to the lake and started on the trailer in the water and everything was good.

I then started to ride it around and get it warmed up.

Once it warmed up I hit a wake and as soon as I came down I lost power and it does the exact same problem that he is having.

The day before I put the cheater pipe on it was running perfect and had been running perfect for almost a year.

It's staying cool, compression is 150 on both cylinders.

There is some paint chips in the bottom of the hull so maybe some got in the carb and clogged the internal fuel filter up.

I have read that a bad coil causes the same symptoms. No matter how much gas you give it while in water is goes like no where, no power but out of water is runs champ.

I have heard that also and am going to test it also but out of the water it also bogs when given throttle.

I would think that your issue is different than the OP. Sounds like a carb issue for you

Fixed my problem.
The rubber inside the pulse pump degraded and clogged up the internal fuel filter.
