there alot off things i learn on this build and the most i learn was u got to have a surface that is flat and smooth to lay fiberglass or your going to have air pocket,so i had lay a thin layer off thicken resin on the foam then sand to ruff up and have a flat surface....

Your build is looking good!

What resin system are you using, and what's the temperature?

it's ht9000 epiglass...this came with the kit from carter b...and the temperature in my garage said with 3 heater it's @ 65 degrees...what i have done is kept the resin indoors were my house temp is at 75 to keep the resin from getting thick...i mix the resin when my fiberglass is cut up and ready to lay and i point one of my heater directly to the part i just fiberglass...it works but i don't do anything to the fiberglass til maybe 4 days when i am off for the weekend.just to make sure it is cured...

things i got do when it cold out...i got to find someplace where it warm 24/7...then again if i didn't have the down time,i would have not get to do this build cause i'll be riding the hell out of this ski....i guess with this down time it give me thing to do...whats the saying....ride it...you break it...you fix it...then start all over...

i was worried on how thick the tray was going be,being it was only 3 layer of fiberglass...so i went and bore out my rear bow eye,i was surprise how thick it was and it look like the same thickness of the oem hull or thicker

I asked because I'm also working in cold conditions. I'm using the US Composites 635 system (4:1 Fast) and they state that you can use it down to temperatures of 45 degrees. I've been working in a ~55 degree garage with no issues as of yet.

Ski looks great! Did you use bindo or some body filler to get the hull smooth where you installed the rocker?

thanks...i did install the kit myself,it was so easy it came with templates and instruction,i use thicken epoxy to fill and smooth out..body filler will work but i am trying to keep the weight down...i am going to use body filler to finish, since i not using gelcoat...but i don't know if i kept the weight down.i did use alot of thicken epoxy to match the kit with hull...

Understandable. I've been seeing a lot of people do these but never what they use to get it smooth like that. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Well, one build is technically just a "put together". It's for my wife. Mine, I have about 75 hours of glass work to do on too of the 20 hours of body/paint work. Will be a big job for sure
