superjet midshaft question

No like winter
Greg,

you need to get one from a 1990-1993 model. They changed midshafts in 1994 when they switched to the 701 platform. Buy used OEM; stay away from WSM aftermarkets and the like...

hulls are the same, just the midshaft houseing and bolt patterns changed.. Driveshafts are all the same.

So, you need to find a midshaft/housing
from a 90-93 model superjet.

midshaft are different .the thread on early models is smaller than 701 platform.the shaft will interchange but you will need a different coupler to match it.

between blaster and 94+ sj or between pre94 and 94+ sj??

i gave oxnard111 a blaster midshaft hes running in his ski but he never removed the coupler..just used the stock one

not sure on blaster.early and late sj for sure.i've got 2 of them here.
the shaft are alike other than the coupler threads.

so let me make sure im reading this correctly.

blaster 1 midshafts will bolt straight up to 94 and up sj's?

94 and 95 sn midshafts will also bolt straight up to a rn?

just trying to clarify casue i need to pick one up.

now does anyone have a good condition midshaft they want to sell that will fit a rn?

Advice I received from DangerBoy who has been in the watercraft industry for 20+ years and riding yamaha's for over 10 is to only use OEM mid shaft housings. Aftermarket bearings and the short shaft itself are usable.
