Super Jet SuperJet Non-Sparker How is eBox grounded?

So I have a '94 that I couldn't get to spark. Eventually took ebox apart, to find it was a ground issue. Currently running wire from (-) on battery to ebox mount and it works.

Just curious how this box is meant to be grounded. I trailed some wires, to no avail - 1 went into the crankcase but I was doubting that's where ebox gets grounded.

Sorry if this is noob, I'm use to working on cars where you basically just ground to the closest piece of metal :p

Cheers mates!

the black wire that goes to the stator is the ground for the ebox. that is probably the one you saw, stator is under the flywheel. the stator is attached to the block. the block has the big negative battery cable attached near the starter.

Stator is the ebox's ground and blocks ground goes to battery like mike said. If your ground went, would be suspect of your other wires going out next. Would pull flywheel and check, inspect and perhaps re-solder if needed.

To get to the block would I need to pull whole engine? I'm adding a bilge this weekend and would like to just ride it off for summer & fix properly when the snow starts falling if engine pull reqd.

Thanks so much for the help!

If the stator ground is broken/intermittent, is there any issues with running another ground to your ebox. Obviously not ideal but could it cause any problems?
