superjet racers please help!!

i have a number of older 1994,1996,2003, superjets...the 96 is the full 8mm stroker r&d motor with power valves...the works including the skat pump!..sure seems that if this boat could hookup and handle better it would compete with the hydrojunk?? is this at all possible???? can ANYBODY tell me if installing the tubbies 2 and rear sponsons what difference this would make??? I want to attempt to make this boat as competitive as possible in CC Racing thanks for the info....Cory

drop nozzle, work intake grate and ride plate, bigger skat pump..... installing the tubby 2 and the rear sponsons will help with handling but not so much hook up. you may need to also add balance to the front to keep the nose down and not porpoise so much

It's just a lead plate put between the tank and the motor. Just to add some weight to the front.
Tubbies will help you corner. I would think that's a must for a racer.

thanks for the info but....does anybody race with tubbies and rear sponsons?? and then hull extension??? I am about to purchase these items thinking i will turn my already rocketship into a HANDLING rocketship??? please help

Well, depends on what class you are in but the rear sponsons and tubbies aren't legal in all class, I assume with the engine mods you are in mod class so I think they are. From what I have read I would go with Tubbie II's and hull extensions. Before when I was racing a superjet in Vintage I was going to go that route but now I have an Sxi Pro so I couldn't tell you how much it helps.

If peeps are running limited on SJ's, most have front sponsons and extensions. Many also add the weight like mentioned. This is one thing that many learned when the SXR's came out, the extra weight really helped out, I have seen where racers have added as much as 70 lbs of weight. (yeah, that is alot)

Sounds like you have a pretty good setup for the vintage 750 class.

You need to talk to superjet112x, he has the 08 with the full mod motor, type9, 140 mag pump, advent, etc. and pushing well into the 60's now with the best handling boat he ever has had and no extra weight.

i was running an 04 superjet race boat
It had tubbies and hull extensions
it was awesome , until the 08 came out
rear sponsons will make it sketchy on the rough water going down the straights

I bought everything off Ken Williams 2002 limited race ski. They had tons of R&D on it. I bought everything but the Blowsion hull, hood, pole. He did very well with it. As far as hook up, he had Protech drop nozzel, solas YBSCI impellar, Works Pump Stuffer, Works Dominator ride plate, hull weights. I rode the ski after its retirement with Tubbies and it made a world of difference coming out of thr bouys. Ken can run it with the local limited SXR's, leg drag every turn and run in front for full tanks of race fuel. I dont know what that set up would do with big power.
