Hey guys, pulled my turf off this weekend to repair my cracked tray. As I started to sand through the crack I chased it out but found a pretty big void in the foam underneath so I ended up just cutting a square out to gain access and will do the same on the other side.
There are big voids in my foam on both sides of the tray, probably partial reason for the cracking. So I’m planning on getting some expanding foam. My question is, if I dump it into here so it flows to the areas that are open, will it pop the tray? I would assume it is solid enough to force the foam to expand out the opening but I have seen some spray foam pop things on houses before. This screw driver just slides back there without me digging anything out.
My plan right now is to foam it. Then feather back these edges around the perimeter and then probably overlay the entire tray for a little reinforcing. If you have any other comments or recommendations of what I could do better/differently please feel free to add them, this is my first shot at doing glass/repair.
