Supertune Chuck

Just curious to know if anyone has heard from Supertune Chuck? I remember his moving on from skis to other things in life and just wondering how he's doing. I miss reading his responses on tech and modding, the man is brilliant. A mad modding scienteest if you will :)

Saw him a few years ago at the Hartwell Races. He was there to support a few guys still racing 2 strokes. Said he was not going to fool with the 4 Strokes. I asked him to come back and start posting again. He said he had such a bad taste in his mouth from members here to cannot properly tune their ski's constantly arguing and telling him he was wrong...................

I figured he wouldn't get out of skis 100% :) It was such a huge part of his life, it's hard to fully walk away from something like that unless you ended up fully resenting the career path or were never truly interested in it to begin with. It's good to here he's doing well, that's what I was hoping to hear :)

I can understand that. That's a real loss for all of us that really paid attention to what he had to say.

It is a shame! Im friends with quite a few builders / shops. We talk all the time. Last night was talking with another shop owner about this same subject. He was reluctant to start posting, for the very same reasons.
Not to muck up this thread about Chuck, ( would love to have him back posting myself) If the membership as a whole would “respect” the guys who do this for a living ! And take their word for what they know to work!
The knowledge base here would grow back to what it was 15 years ago when the X started! Think about it!

I agree as we are losing a lot of the knowledge from a lot of different forums. The problem is you get the know-it-all's that will swear up and down what they are saying is fact and they are an expert which sounds correct to people that don't know and come for advice. Then you get the people that do actually know what they are talking about and it becomes a heated argument with the know it all. I don't know what the solution to it is but I know the frustration of defending your responses when you are correct, it gets exhausting.

when somebody that doesn't know what they are talking about and they argue with you and tell you that you are wrong, just blow their hair back and get banned. works for me

Im with Buzzard on giving the know it all a quick vacation for the lack of respect issues! I have found myself in arguments with Mr Be Fair, BK , all to often when I get bent up over these clowns. I myself dont post as often as I like, and find I have more productive things to do. Wasting time with an unappreciative member, on a motor subject, is just stupid. As members who care, and really want the knowledge back? Know, you can do your part to curb the lack of respect! Ill back you up! Even if BK yells at me!

I'll never forget the advice you gave me regarding aftermarket intake systems and reading the signs to tune them. I'm still working on getting better at it but that's just me...I'm never happy with my results until I am really happy with them lol. Listening to what you told me has really honed in my ears and skills. I can't thank you enough for the lengthy and detailed conversations we have had about the subject in the years past. What it shows though is taking to heart the knowledge guys like you, Chris at JetManiac, Blue, Chuck and the others that have been solid names in the industry, we learn by leaps and bounds and quickly.

He went on to other things..........

Well, I suppose it's going to happen to us all at some point. I remember the last time the site did post counts he was number one on that chart having over 32,000 posts lol. Yeah it wasn't all tech but over that many posts there was definitely some experience posted. Lots of his posts helped me with deciding on which direction I wanted my builds to go in.

Need the people who "have the knowledge" to have a gold star or something next to there name. I have been here a while and still took me some time to catch on that people like Jr and Blue etc know what they are talking about through experience/profession. And theBuzzard needs a Silver star for calling out the people who are full of shonet. :)

Yes or maybe an "Ask the Builder" section, where only the OP and the Builder can respond, so no FB know it all can derail the thread. Obviously this could just be done through PMs, but then it would not show up in Search or be readily available for others to learn from. But there would have to be a filter of some sort, since you wouldn't want to wear out the Pauls and Blues and Chuckies of the world with questions about 2 stroke oil brands and fuel mix ratios.

The good ole days are gone when you had discussions REGULARLY here with 3, 4 or more engine builders on the same thread giving tips to help someone out. Many of us learned tips that took years to figure out by trial and error from builders. This site still is a wealth of information if you check in daily under "new posts" or you Google search while including this website. The goal is to learn something everyday perhaps.

Hey Paul @Jr. What happened, you were going to spearhead something like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Payback Bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I use google for doing tech searches on skis far more often then ask on a new thread. Google will turn up many more specific threads across all forums then posting what may have been discussed last month and is now on page 5 or 6. Plus google will find results from the original X forum before the new facelift as some threads just aren't available on our new platform :)
