As many have seen there have been some changes in the past week. The site is supported by the members (You) and also with Google Adsense. We just got Adsense set back up but honestly do not know how much this will generate yet. Member support ( "Account Upgrade") covers almost half of the Yearly Expenses. Domain Name Fee's, Xenforo Fee's and Hosting Fee's. For Adsense to help cover the balance several things need to happen. 1. We have to learn all about it and to make it work! 2. Members have to use the site!!!!!!!! As I get time to study it more I will relay what I learn! This is all new to me! Another thing is we need to get the site more active! I know, Its winter time!!!!!!!! But post up about your spring projects to your ski. New Build Threads!!!!!!!! Just dont ask "Which Oil is Best"...............

Over all the site has been really smooth running lately. No issues really with any members. (I thank you all, makes our part much easier. It is never fun being the bad guy here!).

So, Please support the site if you can......... I get it, for many times are really tough, I am fortunate to be in Construction and we have not been effected too much. But I know many others are hurting. If you cannot, Please, still come use the site as much as you can!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going through the different forums and checking things out. If you have any ideas suggestions post them up under site info!!!!! Bring your friends from FB!!!!!!!!!!! Dont get me wrong, I love FB also. But with this site, you can always reference back and find info. Not so much on Facebook........

Ignorance is bliss....I have been a member since as least 2011....bought probably 60 K worth of skis, engines, parts etc over the years from members and JM / Chris...and only find out now that I can contribute 10 USD per year to help this forum to keep going.......that's a steal right there.....so I am upgraded.

A Huge thank you to the admins past, present, and future....well done guys.....special people you are.

I want to mention that some X-H2O merch is really a great idea. I know that will take additional attention and work but it could benefit the site. You know my brother and Wally are both very successful artists and i'm sure they would be happy to help contribute some images for shirts. Just a thought!

Also, I don't know how this could be done but I do notice that there are always way more "guests" than members on the site at any given time. Would it be a terrible idea to somehow limit what is able to be viewed by non-members? Like you can't look at pictures unless you are logged in and that's a good thing I believe.

Thanks for everything! I have found some real friends here on the X and can honestly say it has changed my life :cool: I really enjoy seeing 10-15 year plus members here, that says something right there.

The Account Upgrades 'button/tab' is broken. It does nothing. The link in the bottom of BK's opening statement of this thread just brings me back to this thread. I've tried in both IE and Chrome. Don't make me spend my last 10 bucks on cocaine and hookers....

Yep, I observed the same. Click on your Profile Name at the top right of the screen, and halfway down on the dropdown is "Account Upgrades." That will take you where you need to go!

Gotta be careful with this. If you restrict content, you are also blocking that content for google crawler which is going to hurt SEO (probably the most important tool for continued growth of the site is organic search traffic if I was guessing). You could do some magic to open the content for the google crawler but it can get a bit wonky.

There are already different levels of "views" that have been implemented. Some secret forums, some top-secret forums both with different levels of access depending on the account. I'm reviewing everything still in the backend but generally speaking, we want the guest traffic to have access to MOST content for the hits. I have 15 years of configurations to run through still :)

I'm working on this now, there's some broken URL's that need to be fixed.

Edit: This has now been fixed. Do a key bump and Paypal your heart out!

Just became a supporter. X Merch would be great. I added a tshirt on my last purchase through Jetmaniac... it’s a pretty easy sell if you ask me... also, what’s more hipster in 2021 than standup ski merch?
