Blaster Surf plate and grate

I have a riva scoop grate and groovy plate. I know the groovy is crap for surf not sure on the ride plate. Im looking at going to lake erie for more and more surf. (ten foot waves yesterday). So in saying so I'm wondering what plate you guys find best. I've heard stock is awesome but of course I tradded that away like an idiot. Blowsion claims the carbon one they have is sick but I can't hack spending $240 on a carbon plate that will surely crack the first time it hits bottom. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to do quick steer this week and have been tossing around trim.

My buddy has a jet dynamics plate that jumps really well and also porpoises a lot. I wasn't sure if that was any good in surf or not. I may just look for a stocker if I don't get any more input.

i was just looking at that overpriced carbon one from blowsion and was curious too if it was truly as amazing as blowsion claims it to be...

i run an R&D, not sure what model, along with a double scoop from a newer superjet.... had to trim it a bit to get it to fit flush against the hull but it holds the ski great.... almost too much though if you enjoy sliding the back around... I've never had any other ride plate so I can't really compare it to anything else....

the R&D I use definitely sticks out beyond the hull... but so does my pro-tec steering nozzle... think it would be beneficial to zip the ride plate flush with the hull even though the nozzle sticks out farther? i'm fairly certain the answer will be yes

I can back you on the Groovy....Sucks in the Surf/Chop I put it on to test it out there and really Struggled this weekend.

Wow this was a while ago. I ended up getting a stock ride plate again. I still have the groovy but it hasnt been on in almost a year. I have an Ocean Pro on my other ski and it is definitely purely for corners. I am starting to wonder if I even know what a D cut is. Any one have a picture?
