Surface rust on bearing cage

This is why I say use only TCW-3 if it will work. All watercraft engines are very susceptible to rust. Petroleum and butene in cheap oil are the ingredients that repel water but they aren't the best high temperature lubricants. Try Maxima Super M, its basically a higher temp oil with lots of petroleum and butene.

im not sure how much it helps in the long run but id imagine it cant hurt but ive started spraying fogging oil in my engine after each ride, i blow the water out as good as possible then while the engine is still running ill spray a several second burst through each carb. then after i shut the engine off, ill spray more fogging oil into the engine while turning it over. ive seen guys pour straight 2 stroke oil down the carbs after a day in the salt water. i also run my oil mixture at around 34-36:1 for more cheap insurance.

It's probably the best thing you can do for the longevity of your engine other than cranking it up on land and blowing the water out the exhaust ,

Some of the Internation model Polaris watercraft had a primer setup that pulled oil out of the oil tank and injected it at the flame arrestor just for this purpose.
