hate to break it to you but apparently the "EPA" will not allow cleanup of the seaweed on texas beaches anymore; they consider it a healthy compost if you will.. I was just at surfside 2 weeks ago and it was down right horrible. There is NO WAY you can back a trailer up to the water. You will have to carry your ski's through about 10-20 feet of seaweed that sinks under your feet, and in certain spots, comes up to your calf. On top of that, there is no beach, its pretty much water, then marsh, then dried seaweed, then finally sand. I probably wont be going back to surfside for a VERY long time because of this..

Another thing, since all the seaweed is rotting on the beach surfside has a fly problem now. Just letting you know! sucks!

i already know.. it was only about an hour drive for me and my boys and we were appalled by what we saw. We drove down the beach for about 20 min looking for a break in the seaweed before we said f--k it and just dealt with it

Keep a eye out on the surf cams bet its gone soon The tourism people are not going to fall in line on this one Texas beaches bring in some cash in the summer

I was at the beach last Saturday and it has decompossed down 1/3 from the week before. Was'nt anything up to my ankles, but it is thicker in some plces. 30 minutes with a rake and you would have a large area cleared. I ain't going this weekend because all the idiots will be there, but I'll push my cart to the water next weekend and go flounder in the water trying to be Ross Champion. The flys suck as$%#^^^
