There is almost no weight on the tongue whatsoever.

Moving the skis forward was my plan B. If mounting my tool box and fuel jug holder doesn't help significantly.
I thought of moving the axle back, but I would have to relocate the the fender as well... major undertaking. I'd rather move the skis forward.

I like the idea for the spare

Move the skis forward slightly and add the toolbox and gas rack to the front. It should balance out nicely then. I'd even mount a spare tire up near the front as well, hide it under the toolbox.

I mocked up the tool box and fuel jug mount today and took pics. Ill try to post them tomorrow.

If the skis go forward, they have to go all the way forward for my cart to fit. My cart is a bit of an issue, but I don't have the skills or the funds to rebuild it right now.

Heres the tool box. Pretty light gauge, but it would have tools in it, spare batteries, straps etc.
Its sitting on 3x3" square tube. I think its 1/8th wall.

And this is with my fuel jug holder that I made.

My concern with the fuel jug holder is that the jugs will be lighter, if not empty at the end of the day, and my skis will be heavier. :dunno:

Bring 2 5gallon buckets for hillbilly balast on the ride home! You could fill them up with lake water to offset the loss of fuel weight.

I think i'm going to buy the materials to move the skis forward. While im doing that, here are the links where I bought the parts from.

All e-track:

5' Vertical e-track

Wood beam sockets

Gonna cost another $70 in parts and $107 shipped to move the skis to the front of the trailer. Not including wood, screws etc.

But I agree with those who suggested it, its probably the best way to go.

I got the tool box mounted, gas can holder mounted and painted...but no pics...

But! as a testament to the utility and versatility of the trailer... I used it to haul my BC on Saturday, and hauled a load of hardwood mulch from my parents place on Sunday.

Still had some balance issues on the hitch with this load. I had a little more material in front but it still banged around a couple times.

it looks as though your axle is in the center of the trailer this will cause the issue you are having and if you get more weight in the rear when towing it will start to sway probable above 45 mph most trailer setups have a 60 40 split being axel is 60% from the front of trailer
