Super Jet Swapmeet's "Really?" RN build

This sounded like a good idea, so I started grinding away my hull from the inside the other day. The gelcoat just keeps cracking. Now I have a big hole in the side of my hull. How to I fix the broken gelcoat and how do I finish grinding away the remaining fiberglass to prep for the layup?

To strip paint, probably Gelcoat and fo' sho aircraft, try "Aircraft Stripper" from you local automotive supply store.


For fiberglass.... well, if you don't know how to remove fiberglass......

Little sneak preview of the 3rd or maybe 4th paint job on this side of the ski. Finally got something I kinda like....
Still needs to be pin striped, but i finally wet sanded the clear and buffed some of it last night. I'm pretty excited to see it all finished.

That went way over your head.

Tom21 suggested to grind away everything but the gelcoat, then lay up carbon to the remaining gelcoat like putting paper mache over a ballon. Obviously this wouldn't work. I was joking that I had tried it anyway.

jeezus! im so not getting my jokes across. vumad is playing w us. and my joke was to grind away everything but the gelcoat. leaving just gelcoat like and eggshell. then to make a new ski from carbon to make it light. it was a bad joke that it seems was misinterpreted.

Telling him to grind all the ski away I thought was funny, and then I was thinking of

copy this- img src="URL" / and put this < in front and this in back >

highlight the URL

find the gif you want and right click and do "copy image location"

go to the highlighted URL and hit paste which replaces the url with the copied image location

post it

Find gif... Google is your friend.

Right click ----> Properties (if you use Explorer) ---> Highlight the address ending in .gif ------> Copy.
Then, Click the little picture of the tree on in the reply box ^^^^ Paste what you copied into that box.

I've been having trouble lately with that technique. I think Jett is trying to thwart all my .gif awesomeness... but i'm paranoid, so who knows.

So here's the other way, do all the right click, properties, copy business... then type "

I feel I will regret telling everyone this... but meh... more the merrier.
BTW, this is about to be 'The real' Gif thread... just sayin...

Subscribed, This Thread has made me laugh and borderline fall off my chair since it was started. I have been watching for weeks. Still awaiting to hear who this mystery seller is.. Ski has come a long way! Keep up the Shenanigans! We all need a laugh and to have our spirits raised once in awhile, I have spent alot of cash on my build and it still has soo many flaws and no where near completion. Thank You Swapmeet!
