Just go threw the process of home built boat, not that big of a deal in most state. Was pretty easy in oklahoma, I've done it twice.

Not judging motives here, I think the law in this area is ridiculously rigid, but isn't using a previously titled hull to build a "homebuilt" just another illegal way to get away with it, or do you guys think that it is actually legal to do it that way?

Nevada, bring the boat to local department of wildlife ( its not done over dmv here ) bring receipts and pictures of your build and register and title as homebuilt....
it costs $ 20 for title and $ 20 for registration + $ 10 for fungus sticker and you are done, very simple and legal process....
