switching from single to dual carbs

D-Roc

I forgot!
Lets say i was to switch from a single riva powerbomb 48 with the following jetting:

Main Jet: 135
Pilot:150
N & S: 2.5
Spring: 115g
pop off = 20-22

to a dual 48 powerbomb carb setup how much would i have to rejet each carb? I am thinking that with the current jetting for single it may be too rich if i run it as a dual, but then again if it is currently mixing the right amount of fuel with the amount of air that it lets in, it may not need much of a re-jet. Really i don't know so any input would help.

I'm doing the same. Can anyone chime in if they run dual powerbombs on a ported piped 735 Yamaha. Looking for some base specs to get me started. Carb database has very little info with regards to dual powerbombs.

I Can't imagine dual 48s are going to help much if at all for a 735. dual 38s run super strong even on a 760. I'm running a single 48 powerbomb on my ported 760 and I can flatwater flip it all day. I suspect adding another will just make it hard to tune and probably load up. That's just my uneducated guess lol. I have definitely though about running duals as a stepping stone to a bigger motor but this thought holds me up. I recall someone else posting about trying to dial in their duals on a small bore motor and giving up/selling the carbs and going back to a single.

Best of luck

That is way too much carb for a 735. Not saying you cannot get them to run right, they will, friend has them. But you are not getting the best performance.
