Super Jet Switching pump shoes??

I've got a 140 pump in my SJ now and got a 148 on the bench ready to swap in, do I need to get a different pump shoe for the 148 pump?
Cheers Ray

The plastic OEM 144 pump shoe is skeletonized, so when you grind it to enlarge it, you will run into those voids. You can fill them.
Alternatively, use a metal pump shoe and grind it to fit.

Honestly, I've run a 148 on an un-modified OEM 144 shoe and then a matched 148 pump shoe. I couldn't tell a difference at all.

Yes, Blowsion sells a Jet Dynamics 148mm shoe. However, it's trivial (but time-consuming) to grind a 144mm metal shoe.

I seem to remember you telling me I should definitely grind my 144mm shoe to fit my 148mm pump earlier this year? Could have saved me a lot of time grinding that damn thing to say this at that time

Well - I would advise you to do it if you're putting in a new pump shoe that's not stock plastic. I couldn't tell a performance difference, but it wasn't that much of a pain to do and I think it's better to do it and not to notice a difference than the other way around.

If you already have a perfectly good 144mm plastic shoe in the hull, don't bother replacing it.

What about the opposite, say going from a hull that has a 155 pump in it and now i want to go back to a 144 pump. what all would that consist of?

Remove the 155 shoe
Put a 144 or 148 shoe in and bolt a pump and mid shaft in place
That will align the shoe where it needs to be.
Glue it in and fill any gaps with glue, epoxy, whatever, preferably with the rest of,the driveline bolted in
