One of the rear corners had some shocking repairs carried out on it by one of the previous owners.. So that was dug out and repaired properly...

looks good. bought a brand new 2001 sxi pro and loved it. after i added tubbies and hull extenders! i remember selling it and the guy talking me down because we could see light coming through the bottom of the hull between the tank and flywheel. kawi don't build them like Yamaha that's for sure! if you have it pulled down now would be the time for tubbies and extenders. that's if you want to hang with sxr's!

Ok so seeing as the ski come without stock rear sponsons i thought id make some up out of aluminum, there roughly to size of the aftermarket ones you can buy so thay should be ok..

Will epoxy/paint them up when get a chance, not bad for couple hours work

SXI good times on flat water...
The untouched gas lid cover caught my attention.
I would take care of the gas lid fill it/ mold it in. And would proceed with internal filling instead.
The door likes to detach, and sinks easily...but your probably know this

Yeah il be doing something with the gas lid.. thought about flushing it in but to be honest takes away the shape some what at the front, im now thinking of re making it out of carbon.. along with a few other bits, see how things go though

Managed to get abit more done but progress realy slow at the mo..

Made some adjustments to the sponsons.. heres one done minus paint..

Got the head refitted and assembled engine for compression test which turned out ok.. 165 on both cylinders.. mite increase after new rings have bedded in but could be wrong.. first engine ive fully rebuilt this far so still abit of a learning curve at the mo
smiley14.gif
i had a nitemare trying to get the flywheel off and almost killed it in the process but some handywork and patience with that and it has turned out good..
