SX/SXi/SXi Pro SXI Pro handle poles

Hey there! I just bought my first standup a month ago, an '02 SXI Pro and I dont know much about them. Switched over from motocross due to the lack of any track within 200 miles. My stock handle pole is starting to crack near the steering stem. Ive found several from blowsion, ac racing, and rrb. What would yall recommend for a beginner? Are the aluminum poles better/lighter than any others? also any tips/tricks to change out the turf?

Yes, they all start to crack there, they are POS handle poles. Its the same pole since the 92 750SX, SXI, SXI PRO, and even on the SX-R. I cant believe they made the new SX-R hull and still used the same POS pole. But Im sure it was to save $$$ and not design a ewn one with molds,etc...
Anyways, it depends on how much you want to spend. You can find a used alum older AC type for 2-300, or get adjustable one like the X-metal or RRP. These are around the 700-1400 dollar range.

Once you get the turf scraped off, i like to use a wire wheel 2" cup brush on a drill or some air tool. Takes the glue and light lair of turf right off. Then clean up rest with some laquer thinner. Acetone evaporates too fast.

Try PLD on Pwctoday he makes nice poles but ask to have the welds go all the way around

RRP pole is indestructable, AC poles bend, even seen them break the tubes internally.
