Swaping a sxi to a pro hull with a solas pump and need to make up over 2 inches in the drive shaft. I was thinking of using a sxr shaft. What do you think?

Should only be 1 Inch. The SXi Pro had the engine set forward 1 inch from the SX series.

Had to cut .75'' off the back half of the shaft. I cut it in the middle between the splines and the bearing surface and welded it. If the SXR shaft was not turned down in between the unused area it would be much easier to just cut the back off and run some new splines on the shaft.

I am having similar issues. I have an SXI Pro and want to move my Solas pump 2" towards the rear. I found out this weekend that the prop sits about 1/2" further back in the solas pump vs. the stock pump. I have an extended SXR shaft intended for use with a setback mag pump in an SXR (+3" over sxi pro shaft), but am facing the same issue with the shaft noting being the correct diameter for the through hull bearing. I plan to have the shaft spray welded and turned down to the proper diameter.
