Didn't paint the engine compartment. If I have any ski money left when I'm done I might pick up a pair of bars. Finger throttle isn't much of a concern. I have rode a few with them and don't really care either way. I have never rode all day with one but I also havent had any problems with my thumb or hand getting tired the way it is. I guess you get a better grip though? If I get bars I might try the finger throttle too.

Forgot.. I got the bilge wired in and the dash turf done. Waiting on more turff for the tray and rails.

Ski looks sweet! Footholds, and paint turned out great. Where in colorado are you? Me and a few buddies ride Boyd in Loveland all the time.

I never stop getting :):):):) from the guys I ride with bc I spend money on my kawi and not a sj. Hopefully I can prove them wrong before its all over!

Still not sold on the SJ... I've been addicted to carving on a kawasaki forever.

Colorado Springs. We ride at Meredith (east of Pueblo) and Navajo. I havent been anywhere north of Pueblo but I think we are going to McConaughy this summer.

Haha, I've never really been south. I was thinking of hitting up McConaughy this summer too. Heard it's a pretty good spot for camping and such.

I shaved the pad to try to give it a better shape. It came out pretty good but I didn't get the foam very smooth. It showed worse when I painted it. Alos painted the nose rail. Going to use it instead of the turf. Actually thought about just painting all the rail but then I remembered I epoxied the holes... Wainting on turf to finish the tray and rails. Sorry for the crappy pic. I will pull it outside and get some better ones when it's done.

Nice ski dude!

I rolled with a thumb throttle for a while. Use a finger throttle now. It's personal preference. I can roll with either. That's how talented I am. :silly:

Here is a better picture of the shaved pad, the skis at the lake, and my trailer. I'm pretty happy with the paint and turff. The footholds rubed my ankles almost to bleading from less than an hour of riding. It was cold and windy so we didn't spend much time in the water. I picked up a neoprene elbow brace as someone else suggested and will give it a shot. I will end up reshaping the holds but hopefully not until winter.

I cut the section of the turf that was rubing my ankles raw and replaced it with the smooth side out. Rode two weeks like this and it's working great. Problem solved!

nice sxi man. the paint looks awesome. i also like the shaved chinpad. kawasaki started doing that on the sxi pro from the factory didnt they? i noticed the sxi pro and sxr chinpads are shaved down a bit compared to the 750sx and 750sxi models.

Early 750s had a longer steering turn plate which the longer pad was designed for. I don't know the year but when the quick turn steering plate was added to the stock ski, the pad was designed shorter to accomidate the revision. I once had a '93 750sx and purchase an aftermarket quick turn plate and had a friend shave mine down.

I don't know if it's longer than the pro but it is thicker. My friend has a pro and I bet his pad is 1/3 the thicknes of my SXi
