not defoamed, we where hitting the wake off a 30 foot yacht he landed hard and exhaust hose sheared off the water box. ski completely filled up.
his bilge pump couldn't dump that much in time.the bilge was actually running the whole 3 hours on the bottom of the lake

it was about 20 feet where they found it, but it was overcast so only about 6 feet visibility it was lucky to find it the same day.

he had it running strong at my cottage the next weekend!!

We have had 2 SXRs sink on us. Neither went to the bottom, but neither floated on top either. They kinda hung out just under the surface. One was completely black on black and nobody could see it. It washed up on the beach about 3/4 mile North of where we were riding.

Now my step-dad's 750sx sank, but still floated with most of the hood and gunwales above the water. I'm sure having a mostly empty tank helped that out.

Ya there was no half sinking involved... Like a rock and then very slightly float/drag on the bottom

No, just a 500gph bildge pump, and it stilk wouldnt clear it in time with the amount of water dumped in by the exhaust

If the exhaust came off the waterbox, it'd be like having a scupper come off. 2-3 big bilge pumps couldn't keep up with that. I'm impressed you guys found it. Doesn't look like it'd be in a very obvious place...wide open lake.

I am surprised it sunk then. Usually the only time I see them go all the way down is when something lets the air out the back. If the drain plug was in, usually to tail will stick out of the water.

Still cant believe it went down. I have seen multiple sxr s loose their hoods and go down but at least a hand grip or something normally stays up. When you told me this story i was freaking but after seeing the video all i can say is wow were you guys lucky!

ya we were lucky it was not another mile from shore lake Ontario there is about a hundred feet lol
