SXR 800 Lightned Flywheel

Starting my winter project of turning my sxr into more of a lites race boat. Not trying to go crazy on motor work but wondering who everyone is using to lighten their flywheels. My plans are bored nozzle, lightned flywheel, ignition jumper and dry out stock exhaust. Possibly looking into an impeller, pump cone and cylinder head if they’re worth it? Engine has about 155psi both cylinders.

How do you ride? A big nozzle will make it pull harder. Don't expect much from a cone. Leave the head stock if you jump the temp sensor. Lighten the flywheel last, the ignition advance may be enough.

Other than practicing or racing I don’t ride the ski much. I ran the temp sensor jumper starting mid season this year and the ski seemed to gain some responsiveness. Just looking to make some more small gains for racing.

If you are serious about racing the lites class you might want to brush up on the rulebook. You are not allowed to run a lightened flywheel or perform any sort of modifications on the pump or nozzle aside from changing the impeller.
You ARE allowed to dry out the exhaust and run an ignition jumper in lites class though, better yet just swap the whole cdi for an advent.

Any chance you have any info on drying out the exhaust. I’ve found some stuff in the forums from what I can see I set everything up for dual cooling and add a jet works flow control valve on the exhaust side. Anyone have any idea on how hot I can let it get before I’ll start melting things
