SXR SXR-800 Mystery

You can't see much in that hole, but if there were water in there, you could find out while it's running, it should fling it out and the flywheel would be wet.

Ya, rodents will pack away crap like no tomorrow. Don't rule that out.

I had a car come in one time with the heater core packed full of dog food. Imagine hopping in your car on a 95* degree humid North Carolina day just to have hot moist dog food smell blow right in your face.

LOL,.... i pictured that in my head, couldn't stop laughing.

Oh, and Trixter, if it is the woodruff key, it's only $3.20 through Riva. Cheap fix, but takes a bit of labor and a puller for the flywheel

Sweet! thanks for that link, now i have an idea of what i'm looking for.

BTW, the exhaust feels strong on my hand. I took the rubber exhaust pipe (that runs right past the carbs) off the ski and everything seems ok. i looked into the hull exhaust with a flashlight, no problems there too.

This weekend, i'm going to inspect the flywheel, and woodruff key. Hopefully it solves my issue. (I wanna ride dammit!)

I will post updates as i go along.... and when i finally get it fixed. hopefully other dudes/dudettes can benefit from my findings.

i appreciate the replies guys!

I have a sxr that sat for about 6months to a year with a siezed engine, I since rebuilt it an put it back in, it is doing the exact same thing yours is doin, we disconnected the regulator and ran fine, have a new one to put in in the next few days, will let you know what happends.

Just to confirm, the problem with mine was the regulator, hours an hours of time later that was the problem, Put one in out of a 750sx which is the same part number and runs perfect! I hope this helps you
