SXR SXR burning tooo much fuel???

My sons sxr burns twice as much as mine and he towed a ski yesterday and filled his exhuast pipe with fuel and about blew up ski when he started it up the next day .......any way to find out why soooo much fuel? stcck ski .....with hooker prop

Needle & seat probably need to be replaced.

yup. Sounds like it is stuck open. Mine did the same thing for quite a while.

it seems to run fine but burns a hellva gas??? wouldnt it fowl out iif it was stuck open all the time?

Make sure the N/S lever is flat. I had one that was bent outward just a little and it bottomed when the diaphragm cover was tightened. The end result was a little harder starting and 40% more fuel burn.

Found the high 1 3/4 and the low 1 1/2 might be a problem

SXRs are gas hogs compared to just about any other standup.

I can agree with with the last comment. I about got stranded after switching from my 92 550sx to my 2012 800sxr. You are very limited in ride distance.

im thinking the same thing compared it to my 2012 sxr and burns the same
