Currently working on a ski for a friend of mine and need some recommendations....
current setup goes as follows:
Dasa kawasaki stock stroke top end kit
dasa stock ported cases
dasa intake with V-force 3s
stock mikuni 46s
msd enhanser
factory wet pipe
dual cooling
TDR waterbox
solas prop (unsure of pitch, but never had any pump or prop issues)
aquavein intake great

Yes it is a very mild setup for such a motor but problem is keeping it reliable, my friend rides northern lake st. clair and rides sometimes close to 20miles a day ranging from a 10min idle to WOT for who knows how long... so breaking down in the shipping channel isnt something he wants to deal with. just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the dasa kawi top end and what they did for a setup, this setup has been significantly reliable but is very lacking in power, i know for a fact it needs a timing advance plate, higher compression (165-170 range) and better carb tuning, im a yamaha guy so i know how to build a ripping SJ but i havnt messed with a kawi setup before and especially a kawasaki dasa setup. i believe its a 900 top end and the way its setup now it dosnt even compare to the SS900 in my freestyle ski with a very similar setup, i know the lighter hull makes a difference but its not even remotely close in terms of power, just looking for some helpful recommendations.

920cc was bulit by tpe, cylinder porting, case porting. Advent ignition, tbm flywheel, Novi 48's on a boyesen intake and reeds. HotRods crank, I was running a c4 chamber, and jetworks fcv, drill oem box. 145 skat pump, it's in a gen2 bullett hull.

need to make sure the enhancer is up to 8000rpms. My Advent cuts out at 8100rmps. I can set it to what ever but you have to know where your engine is making peak power

The carbs were purposely ran mega rich, like I said he spends a lot of time between 3/4 and WOT plus compression is around 150 which wasn't my decision but it's, getting bumped up anyway, never spent time messing with the pipe since he always brought it to me in the middle of summer when I was mega busy with other stuff, do you run a spacer between your head pipe and manifold? The rear power valve actually made contact with the head pipe and I had to install a spacer and clearance the head pipe but because it has two gaskets it's tends to leak alot.

I spend a lot of my time 3/4 to WOT too. I run a spacer, what exhaust manifold does he use? The pv should not ever hit, does he have the low profile style?

Just using the factory pipe manifold, even with the spacer the valve still hit and the front had at least a half in more travel

When I get home I'll measure thickness of my spacer. Sounds like you need to start there before he goes buying better performance parts. I just seal my spacer on withe 1211 sealer, i use a westcoast solid top. Did he buy his exhaust new? What style head pipe does he have? There is a 10mm difference between a Yamaha head and kawasaki head pipe.

My dual cooling, running in the higher rpm's cylinders tend to run hot. You can see my spacer, off to the right in the picture.

He had a dry pipe but went through 2 chambers and couldn't keep o-rings in it for more than 2 weeks so he bought the wet pipe brand new, we filled the tip of the mani with epoxy and then just used gaskets, I'm thinking about having a friend weld the spacer on the manifold

Only two place on the head pipe that got touched. I have full lift out of each valve.
