Sxr hull repair

Ok guys, my 06 sxr has some scratches and some gouges on the bottom of the hull, god knows how the previous owner was treating the ski, with the season approaching my main concern is to repair those issues, but not sure what to use, from my understanding the outer shell is plastic and then the next layer is fiberglass? I was thinking of using body filler and then sanding and touch up painting but not sire if not would hold, somebody told me west systems epoxy resin with 410 filler with black coloring from west marine? Any ideas on proper filling material?image.jpgimage.jpg

Easiest thing to use would be Marine Tex. It's a two part epoxy putty. I've used it several times for hull repairs. You can pack and shape it, then sand it smooth after it dries. Only problem in your case would be making it black afterwards but that's not a huge deal.

I fixed this on my Sxr with it. It's still 100%

Ya. It's solid stuff. Just rough the area up with some like 80 grit, clean it well, let it dry, and lop it on. You'll be good to go.

I hit a underwater metal pole last season and took a huge scrap out of my strake. I'll be doing a second sand/roughup and build up on the same spot this spring, it was deep :(
