Dyna flys are junk for a stock class race boat. They over load the pump and don't hook up for anything in the chop. Send the stock prop into skat and have it thined down and cut back 5mm.

Mine would always show good top end radar numbers for a stock boat with the dyna fly, but the stalker always showed acceleration suffered. And if you were chasing someone down and riding right in their wake it felt like the ski was on a pogo stick. Always jumping in and out of the water no mater what intake grate you used. As soon as you went back to the stock modded prop the problem quit. The best intake grate we found was the stainless skat track or the jet dy. The wave or the Macc Racing were the best sponsons on most race coarses. The blowsion destroyers worked better on ocean or great lakes races because they are a little wider and help keep the nose from subbing, but don't corner quite as hard as the other two on flat water.

WOW lots of bad info. Start by learning how to ride/race!

Don't blow your cash until your ski is actually holding you back. If after a few races you think getting the hole shot will put you on top, then start modding.

Don't get caught up in the, you need this part BS. Most new racers can barely make it to the end of moto 3. Get in shape, learn to ride. And ride ride ride!

Showroom stock skis can easily win races in most regions with a good rider who is in shape.

I don't race but in my general experience in bikes, quads and ski, starting small and progressively modding to your skill level is great advice.

However, op didn't specify anything about skill level. He may have been riding the last 15 years on various skis and is only looking for sxr specific information. The practice advice may not be applicable.

I don't know anything 1st hand about the dry pipe, but I have heard lots of bad things about reliability and tuning. My only thought is to consider how much top end you need and really weigh the options vs a wet pipe.

I ride a Superjet.

Are you or your friend racing the ski? if so the first set of items should keep you stock legal.. consult your clubs rules first

Excellent advice. I didn't know when I lightened my flywheel that it excludes me from the limited class. I wouldn't have done it if I had known.
