Yea I have a Kawai but the electronics IMO are junk . Always something . I've never owned a sj got to ride one last summer and well yea fell in love . So easy to toss around compared to my tank(Sxr)

There have been a few SXR SuperStock motors that I would love to have had in my SJ!!!!!!!!!!

That said, do not know of any conversion kits, usually its the other way around, people wanting to put SJ motors in X'2 or 550's

If you have the driveline, I would suggest finding an AM hull that is direct bolt in....... Personally, I never had a lick of trouble out of my SXR vs SJ. SJ, all kinds of electrical gremlins, Granted, My SJ was riden harder, but my SXR was a race ski.....

I recently rode a freshly built and ported sxr motor that i would rock all day..much much more power than my 650 yamaha..the power band on the sxr engines seem to be higher to me, but going fast is coming back.

I'm not saying the op's question is ideal...converting a yami boat for a kawi driveline...but can anyone comment on what the process is/was like?

Step 1-Buy Rad Dudes bed plate. Step 2- Get Rhass short "couch" mounts. Step 3- Measure coupler gap and get custom length Cold Fusion (or another brand) drive couplers. You may also just be able to shim or trim couplers depending on actual midshaft in use and hull setup. Done have fun.

Just put my DASA stroker package in front of a 148 MAXXX in a RokR for that. Worked out well, guy is real happy. Pretty much the run down of how it went. A big plus with the Rad Dudes plate is choices, you can go back and forth between the Yami and Kawi pretty easily. I like choices
