SXR1500 Project - Fixed Steer

@racerx869 How are you liking it a year later?
Hey, thanks for asking. It's been fun so far. I took it to the lake about 6-8 times last year (probably 20-25 hrs on it). I ended up using the opitional position of the stock X2 stem, and rotated the bars back. That moved me a little farther back in tray, which was a better riding position. But the stock X2 stem was alway kind of lose or slopppy, and flexed a lot. In 1 to 2 foot chop, typical of what you would find on a lake, te ride was/is a work out. Over the winter, I scored a really good used UMI X2 stem, at a decent price, and installed it over the winter. When I took the ski out a couple of weeks ago, the steering was noticibly better. No more slop or the fear that the stem was going to snap off. I'm still working on cornering the thing. But overall - I'm happy with the mods. The one thing that's still nearly impossible for me, right now, is deep water boarding. It's almost impossible, with the high bars, to get back on the thing without assistance when you wipe out. But I'm going to keep working with it and figure something out. Thanks......

One thing that really helped me on deep water reboarding on my fixie was a thumb throttle, J found a billet thumb throttle from Terrycable and installed it making that long reach from the back with a finger throttle proved tiresome and at least you easily get some momentum going and pull yourself up with the thumb throttle installed.
