SXR800 and 750 drive shaft

Can anyone tell me is there a difference between drive shafts and if so why? It would make my life easier if they are the same but can't get a straight answer from anyone . Thanks

the 750 is shorter

up to 96 750 sx and sxi are shorter.
from 98 on sxi pro and sxr are about an inch longer.

i imagine this was done to move the engine forward in order to help minimize porpoising
