Other Synthetic oil engine break in ?

What is castor 927. I bought like 6 gallons of it last year and use it for everything, but when I finish my engine build should I use it or something else during break in. If something else, what would you recommend?

From their site :
Castor 927 is a unique blend of highly refined castor oil, a specially prepared synthetic and an additive system that reduces carbon and gum formation and provides excellent rust & corrosion protection. Castor 927 also contains an exclusive additive that keeps power valves cleaner and working properly. For all of us that wish to keep our air and water cleaner, Castor 927 is biodegradable. Castor 927 keeps on lubricating; where other lubricants turn to carbon or vaporize, and provides extra protection on cylinder walls, bearing journals and other critical areas at temperatures much higher than other lubricants.

Klotz super techni plate. Zach at php told me to use it for break in. I then switched to amsoil synthetic and did not like it. They say to mix it 100/1. But there was no way i was going to mix at that ratio. And mixing it at 50/1 left a gunky build up on everything. Switched back to Klotz and gunk cleaned up and felt a noticeable increase in power. I believe I posted about it on here because I was so surprised about the difference. On a side note I'm sure the amsoil would have been fine at 100/1 but I couldn't do it

I run my oil at 34:1 cuz I'm scared Lol. No spooge on exhaust outlet and exhaust is not overly smokie. Lots of good choices out there for sure. OP: I believe the consensus we have all gotten from engine builders is petroleum based oil for break in and if you want then synthetic after that. Good luck and have fun.

Sounds like you were using the wrong type of Amsoil?? Were you using the saber? That's the only Amsoil product they say can be ran at 100:1 and that's for chain saws and weed trimmers. Interceptor says right on it that it should be run at 50:1.

Buddy was running 927 and had gunk on exhaust outlet on his RokR. Switched to Interceptor and it was no longer and issue. To each his own, its not really crazy, just gotta find what works for you. My crank, cylinders and P/V's sure were happy when I tore down for yearly inspection.

Full synthetic, who breaks in their engine on zero wear oil like K2 or R50 ? Some experts claim the rings won't seat properly, just wondering.

It all depends on what ball bearings you are using. Might want to check your powerband once you do break-in and adjust accordingly.

The 100:1 is designed to run that way. A friend who holds many #1 World Titles in Ski use to run that same Amsoil. No Issues. it gunked up because you ran it at a thickened ratio.
I ran it at 80:1 for a while, no issues.
