K So here is my build for my 1990 Yamaha Superjet. I have a fresh 62t motor ready to plunk into my hull. I have WCF footholds and an XFT front foothold ready to glass into my tray. I have a Wet Jet pipe that with a nozzle mod will be ran on this ski. An ac aluminum pole, hooker 9/15 impeller with 7mm setback from impros, and what ever else I come to create. I will get pics up soon. I have my new paint shop complete so its business from here!!! comments and reccommedationa are welcome- Thanks Tanner

Just for your knowledge, Yamaha didn't start making superjets until 1990 so most likely its a 1990 not 1989. Good luck with your build.

Sweet, I also just started airbrushing too. What brush do you have, I got and Iwata CR. I am fairly good at art but airbrushing is tough. I am going to do my registration numbers in the next week or so. I take it this is going to be a play ski and your SXR is you race ski, good combo.

Exactly I am out on a barrel roll mission so If I can pull them flat water on this boat I will have accomplished where i want to be as a rider right now. The SXR is the race and let me say it will never be freestyled it is cherry still and doesn't need spider web cracks from abuse and such. Plus they kinda suck compared to a sj for freestyle. But I have the ski in my paint shop started on filling in the gas cap inlet hole and smoothing out the front, I don't have the stock plastic bow piece so I am ridding of that whole design. I am also filling in the edges where the rub rail piece went all around the side of the ski. I will be hydro-turfing that so would like a nice edge to turf to and to use to stand on during various hood tricks. Another plan I have is making my own hand hold. That will be fun. I have an idea.

The venturi suction line nipple in the engine compartment going from the pump to the bilge to suck the water out in a stock set up was broken off so I am using that as my access point to run my cable through for trim. This will be gone over with pics later in the build

The ribs are going to be ground out and the hull will be fully re-inforced with just fiberglass and epoxy resin. money is tight and weight is not the most vital part of this project for me.

well here are a few pics. The nose is almost done my side rails are now done. I will be either be reinforcing the inside or starting on the footholds next. I am now making the plans of making my own pole and pole bracket. I have some knarly plans, but really I just need to ride this thing. My birthday is July 17th so I want it in the water by then. Comments are great!!

k so the inside is all reinforced with not sure what oz but some thick azz roving and west systems epoxy resin. strong as I need I hope haha. I then got my WCF footholds sunk into place and because of the wetjet pipe I will be modding in this ski I am moving my ebox over an inch or so. and because of my XFT front foothold I am building an aluminum plate to drill, tap and mount behind my foothold. Here are some pics will keep updating as I go. Still trying to ride, work and fight the chicks off with a stick so bare with me if this build isn't done in a week! haha comments are appreciated I am new to this really.

K so the bottom was primered and painted today. I used acrylic urethane high performance black Martin senior paint. and DLP 40 non-sanding primer. Turned out pretty good I got a lil exciting on my primer so I had a run to sand off but it all turned out good at the end of the day. I also unfortunate dropped my ski off the table I was working on. I lifted up a corner to sweep under the leg and it just sorta fell over. really stupid scene so I have a 5 inch all the way though crack to fix right over my right foothold. really pissed about that one, but I can't change it just fix it. I will post some pics soon Once there is more done but the bottom. Cheers - Tanner
