TBM charging flywheel is it really worth it?

Jetnetics showed up yesterday! It looks like a nice piece. With it I added epic ignition. Chris warned me they never tested it with that flywheel. So I ran an old flywheel cover through a band saw and made a bendix holder, used an indicator to find tdc on the front cylinder and marked the case. There were no marks on the flywheel so I ordered a timing tape kit from msd. The tape kit fits "pulleys" from 5.25" up to 8" it came with a bunch of tapes. The flywheel is 5 1/8 so I checked with a degree wheel and its off by 1 degree at 30 degrees. Close enough that I can compensate. Now here is where it gets interesting... I checked it with the enhancer installed and found that I was getting 20 degrees max timing. The curve that was in the epic has me at 30. I need to plug in today and see what the curve is set at. I'll set a flat curve at 20 degrees and re test to verify. Then it's time to water test. If anyone has curve suggestions for this motor and pipe combo I'm open to suggestions.

Msd part number 8985. This can be used on a stock flywheel too.

We've run the jetnetics flywheel with the epic no problem. The main issue is the gen1 epic is a ticking time bomb

Brian, you should really try with MSD TL - you will never go back again. Really wakes up your engine :) I love mine!

For what? Another maybe 10% gain? This boat is already WAYYYY beyond my skill level. This ski was built for us to take to events, we have a mild boat and this setup. When we had it at the Lake Erie ride it ran all weekend without a problem, no dead battery. And most of the guys that got on it didn't believe it had a charging system. I'm content!

i would say more than 10% gain, but thats just me.
Well yea, a lot of us have gear that exceeds our level. You can never get to much power :) Who can drive a 1000cc street bike to its max? Not alot, and not me. But dammit its better than bad sex :)

Ill let ya know next weekend how it stacks up ;)

TBM sucks. Their flywheels break and they claim it has never happened before. They released their special rev 2 version that was supposed to be compatible with the Advent. Well it wasn't and they did not stand behind their product.
