It will load the engine Harder at lower rpm. Depending on current setup it could help bottom end if the pump is too loose. Just makes the pump more efficient as it makes the stator section same diameter as a big hub impeller like a hooker

Sorry to be so late responding to all of you, have not been on here much of late. Fastgtfairlane is basically correct, this will provide more pump pressure, which will help everywhere. I ran this on a bone stock SXR for a short time and could feel the difference immediately, especially on hook up in chop
